"It's hard," Beth acknowledges. "Especially at first. I- I actually only work here part time. I play music the rest of the time and I'm doin' pretty well. I've got an album comin' out in a couple weeks and I make enough money now that I could support myself just with that, but even so..."

She trails off and shrugs. Even so, she's embarrassed to have said all that about herself. They're all facts, it's not like she's claimed to be especially talented, she's only told the truth, that she's found a fair bit of success as a musician, and she still feels like she should be playing it down a little. Just in case someone thinks she's being too arrogant.
