She's got a beautiful voice. Different from Beth's in some ways and kind of similar in others and Beth listens, her head cocked thoughtfully, only smiling and shaking her head when Julia says it doesn't play as well in a place like Darrow.

"We all got things we bring here with us," she says. "It's not stupid at all."

Beth sings songs about the end of the world and first loves and summers in Georgia and no one here seems to mind. In fact, people seem to respond really well, to the point where she's actually making more money than she ever imagined.

"You're really talented," she says.
